On Monday, december 15, the mayor of Tiel, Hans Beenhakker, reached out the documents to continue to use the title “By Royal Order, Supplier to the Royal Household”.
Since 1989 Vliegenthart BV may be called “By Royal Order, Supplier to the Royal Household”. This injunction is granted for 25 years. After this period will be re-examined and tested whether the company can sustain this predicate. Last year, it was examined whether the company can sustain this predicate for a new period. The results were positive.
The title Supplier to the Royal Household was introduced in 1815 by King William I and is one of the oldest royal honors of our country. This designation gives companies the right to carry the Royal Arms, with the addition of “By Royal Order, Supplier to the Royal Household”.
His Majesty the King can give this award to small and medium-sized Dutch companies that occupy a prominent position in the region and in the industry. The companies must be at least a hundred years old and the operators must be able to demonstrate irreproachable behavior. Currently, in the Netherlands 400 companies are allowed to call themselves “Supplier to the Royal Household”.
